LEADER

Educators seek out opportunities for leadership to support student empowerment and success and to improve teaching and learning.

  • Leaders shape, advance and accelerate a shared vision for empowered learning with technology by engaging with education stakeholders.

  • Leaders advocate for equitable access to educational technology, digital content and learning opportunities to meet the diverse needs of all students.

  • Leaders model for colleagues the identification, exploration, evaluation, curation and adoption of new digital resources and tools for learning.

To have a successful career in Instructional Technology, a person needs strong leadership skills in areas such as professionalism and education. Furthermore, this field needs an understanding of Graphic Design skills, such as Page Layout.

VIDEO - LEARNING:

The video that I designed and created as seen below is for the purpose of learning and awareness about Domestic Violence. As I serve as President of the American Association of University Women, AAUW at Athens State University, I was challenged by my mentor to make a learning/awareness video for the audience attending a Domestic Violence Awareness Event.

SCREENCAST, JING, PREZI:

Below are examples of Prezi Presentations I created using Jing  & SCREENCAST to explain the uses of Educational Pinboards.

Leader Resources:

Video about: Leading Edge Institute

The Leading Edge Institute is the only nine-month, service-learning based leadership development program for Alabama college women.

We unite female students from Alabama's colleges and universities with vibrant leaders and change agents in the fields of social change, education, business, policy, and community development.

Students engage in an experiential curriculum that helps build effective, ethical, and compassionate citizen leaders.

The women are placed in an environment to enhance their leadership skills, expose them to community and state issues, prepare them for community involvement, and introduce them to community leaders through mentoring relationships.

Through Leading Edge Institute, I was challenged to complete a campus/community advocate project.

I administered a research survey on my college campus at Athens State University, advocating for a Non-Traditional Student Organization.

I utilized my graphic design skills to design and create a survey.

I reached out to an organization for donations regarding gift/prizes.

I obtained a couple of nice laptop backpacks. Students that completed the survey, had the opportunity to win one of the backpacks. After two months of collecting survey's at various campus events, the compilation of the surcey was completed via my LEI ASU liason- mentor, Dr. Quanda Stevenson. Dr. Stevenson held an official drawing date, where she drew two student names regarding backpack prize winners.

Additionally, via LEI, I experienced philanthropy & volunteerism in Uniontown, Newbern & Selma, Alabama.
